Studio Spreads
For the Hit the Zuiderdiep assignment, I am working with Eleni. We have decided to collect and study the textures of the street. We will go more in-depth with specific materials, such as different types and eras of brick and stonework, as well as studying some of the tiles decorating several old buildings.
We have collected some information, mostly about the Zuiderdiep street itself, and explored its history. I made one spread in English using photos we took on our exploration of the street, and the other in Dutch using some analogue methods to create the large text font.

During class, we pulled random words from a bin to get creative ideas. Mine was: Mysterious Collection.
Photography classwork
During class, we picked up wooden boxes with photosensitive paper inside. We “took” pictures and developed them. These are the negatives.
Photography Assignment
The assignment was to pick a photo and to try to recreate it ten times.
Studio Zines
In class, we created a total of 4 analogue spreads using a mixture of old newspapers and copied pictures we had collected or made the morning before. The theme was black and white. I ended up making 5 spreads during class.
