STUDIO:
For the “Hit the Zuiderdiep” assignment I am teaming up with Kristina and we are covering the WEEVA. This week I started with basic research on what the WEEVA actually is, since it’s new to me.
The first spread is very objective. I relay some of the basic history of the company, without any personal feelings involved. Just straight up facts from WEEVA themselves as a source.
Spread number two is more about my feelings with this company. I talk about the importance and how much I’d like to see soup kitchens return.
For these spreads I tried two different but still similar styles where I used old WEEVA footage as my inspiration. I tried to let the images guide me to a coherent spread.
Here we have my research for W2. I took a deep-dive into old menus at WEEVA and some indexes or designs that use old photography.
LAB:
In class with Lisa we got assigned to make 4 spreads in black and white, for this I cut up some of my old prints, printed some pictures of google, and used other things I could find in newspapers.
For our homework I made these 2 images representing the WEEVA
